Dear BeeScanning users,
We are deeply saddened to announce that BeeScanning Global AB has filed for bankruptcy. Our largest market, the United States, reportedly lost 60–70% of honey bee colonies last winter, while AI analysis costs have surged. The business no longer adds up: our cost base is too high relative to our revenue.
Over the past years we have worked hard to:
- improve the app with new features and a better user experience,
- optimize our AI for higher accuracy and lower operating costs,
- and build honey authenticity and origin traceability to combat honey fraud.
Unfortunately, it now appears that the funding we applied for will not be granted. This means our investments are lost and we can no longer meet our financial obligations.
Our ambition remains: we will keep looking for ways for BeeScanning to help bees survive and to make beekeeping economically viable.
