Time to stop the global fraud with fake honey – support Know Your Honey

The world is facing a growing crisis – not only for the environment, but also for consumers’ right to real food. One of the most vulnerable products is honey. Studies show that up to 100% (Sweden) of the honey sold internationally is adulterated – diluted with sugar solutions, mislabeled as to origin or completely synthetically produced. This not only threatens the health and trust of consumers, but also hits serious beekeepers and the entire ecological system that depends on pollination.

Therefore, a crowdfunding campaign is needed for Know Your Honey – a groundbreaking project with the solution in its hands.

Know Your Honey has developed a unique method and technology to verify the authenticity and origin of honey. By documenting every step of the honey production process – from the hive to the jar – a digital and secure traceability system is created. This makes it possible to reliably show where the honey comes from, how it was produced, and that it is free from manipulation.

The project has already received support from the EIP (European Innovation Partnership), confirming its potential and credibility. However, to achieve real global impact, more resources are needed. The crowdfunding campaign aims to finance three crucial parts:

1. The development of a technical platform where traceability data from beekeepers, laboratories and logistics is collected, secured and verified.

2. The establishment of a new global standard for honey authenticity verification – a quality seal for consumers, producers and buyers.

3. The creation of a digital marketplace where verified beekeepers will be able to offer their authentic honey directly to buyers worldwide.

Know Your Honey is fully in line with the developments currently taking place in the EU. New regulations and stricter controls aim to stop honey fraud and strengthen traceability in the food chain. The European Commission has clearly identified the need for technical solutions that can guarantee the authenticity of products – to protect both consumers and producers. Know Your Honey has the potential to become a model for how these requirements can be met in practice, and to provide authorities, trade and consumers with a powerful tool in the fight against food fraud.

To succeed, we must reach out to the groups that have the most to gain – and the most to contribute:

• The world’s beekeepers, large and small, who are struggling to survive in a market where fraud is pushing down prices and stealing their work.

• People who understand the role of pollinators in the ecosystem, and who want to help protect the future of bees – and thus our own.

• Consumers who demand real, clean food and who want to know what they are actually paying for.

• Tech enthusiasts and forward-thinking investors, who want to support advanced technology for more sustainable and transparent food production.

Supporting this campaign is taking a stand – for bees, for food authenticity and for justice. It is choosing a future where modern technology and natural integrity go hand in hand.
